Reflections on the 4th of July

I take much for granted. At times, I carry an attitude of presumption and entitlement. Then comes the celebration of our freedom, the 4th of July.

I have been given so much that I did not earn. I can worship my Creator without fear of torture or death. I can speak freely to others of my ideas and faith. I can choose my work, own a business, and invest my earnings as I choose. I have clean water to drink, clean air to breathe, food to eat, a roof over my head, a family that loves each other, and a church family that loves God and their neighbors.

What do you have, and how have you been blessed?

Two words for you as you celebrate your freedom:

#1: GRATITUDE; Take time to be thankful for your freedom and quality of life.

#2: RESPONSIBILITY; Consider how to take what you have and create a significant difference for others.

Enjoy your celebration! Happy 4th!!
